Washington DC, see you this week!

September 21, 2014 | What I Did Today | 19 comments

The big week is finally here! I’m doing my longest speaking/book tour trip yet, and going on my first-ever trip to DC in the process. If you’re in the area, I’d love to see you at one or more of the events!

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 24

7:30 PM
Pauline Books & Media
1025 King Street
Alexandria, VA 22314

As soon as my flight lands I’m running over to Pauline Books and Media to say hello, complain about air travel, Β and sign books! (Let’s pray that my flight isn’t delayed. And I shouldn’t have any problems with traffic in DC, right?)

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 25

I’ll be doing my radio show live from SiriusXM’s DC studios at 1:00 PM ET, with the fabulous Lisa-Jo Baker as my guest.

That evening, I’ll be on The World Over on EWTN live at 8:00 PM ET.

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 26

7:00 PM
St. John the Apostle
101 Oakcrest Manor Drive NE
Leesburg, VA 20176

I’m looking forward to giving a talk and meeting people at St. John the Baptist parish in Leesburg!

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 27

9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Risk Jesus Conference
Hylton Memorial Chapel
Woodbridge, VA

Risk Jesus is shaping up to be a truly special event.Β Fr. Dwight Longenecker is also speaking and Marie Miller is performing. The inspiration for the conference is this quote from Pope Francis:

The Lord does not disappoint those who take this risk; whenever we take a step toward Jesus, we come to realize that he is already there, waiting for us with open arms.

Tickets are only $25, and you can register online here.Β I’ll be there all day. Hope to see you there!

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 29

6:00 PM
Catholic Information Center
1501 K Street, NW
Washington, DC 20005

I’ll be giving a talk, and then there will be a reception where I’ll be signing books and hanging out (and probably telling stories of the “Jen moments” that are inevitably going to occur on this trip). If you’d like to join us, just fill out this short RSVP form at the bottom of this page!

. . .

I’m so excited about this trip. If you’re in the area, I’d love to see you!

I hope you have a terrific trip (including smooth, window-seat flights both ways). I would love to come see you at one of your events this week – but first I need to chew my fingernails and grind my teeth while I calculate how many hours it would take for me to get to you in DC rush-hour traffic. πŸ˜‰

  2. Martha

I signed up for the Risk Jesus conference on Saturday simply because I saw you’re speaking. I look forward to meeting you in person!

    Dear Jennifer,

Please be in touch and let me know how I may FINALLY download The Family-First Creative promised to those who pre-ordered your book. My several emails to you have been met with no response, so I am attempting this route to contact you. If necessary, I will provide the April 5th invoice from Amazon.

I look forward to hearing from you. More than you know!

    Sincerely,
    Mary

Sorry, I didn’t see your emails. I just replied.

oops that would be Leesburg, not Lessburg

Oh, this is great — you’re going to be all over the area! πŸ™‚ I see several options here for us to get together:

    1. I could treat you to dinner Saturday after the conference, if you have any spare time then. Or —

    2. I could treat you to lunch Friday, if you’re going to be in the Leesburg area all day. My office is over there. Or —

    3. If all else fails, I could come over to Alexandria Wednesday night and pop in for the book signing!

Anything sound good? Let me know when you can! I’m so glad you’re going to be here. It’s like a birthday present from heaven to me!

  5. Rita @ Open Window

Are you bringing the whole crew? Hope you have a wonderful trip–and can’t wait to see you!

  6. Chicago Dweller

    Please come to Chicago soon!!

  7. Elise

Hope you have a great trip, Jen. I know you’ll be fabulous. Come, Holy Spirit!

  8. Patty

I have been to DC 4 times and just love the city! I hope you have time for some sight-seeing. Good luck with all your appearances! Looking forward to hearing all about them on your blog.

Oh, my gosh, from Leesburg to Woodbridge — Friday night and Saturday morning — fifty miles. That will be quite the thing. I hope that you are staying somewhere helpful! You can sleep in my college daughter’s room if you need to….. ; ) However, I have tickets to Woodbridge and I live near Leesburg (and didn’t realize you would be in both places!!! So I hope I’ll see you both times.

I hope you have a great trip, Jennifer! I really wanted to make the book signing or conference, but it won’t work out. One of my parish priests, though, is speaking at the conference too- Fr. Puogbo. He’s great, so I’m glad you’ll get to meet him! And here’s hoping DC traffic isn’t too crazy. πŸ™‚

    Hi Jennifer
We just watched EWTN The World Over, but didn’t see you. =(
Did you make it on tonight?
We recorded it, but thought I’d ask if maybe you didn’t make it to the set.
Just finished your book and absolutely loved it.
    Thank you.

    • Jennifer Fulwiler

I did make it, they just decided to hold it until next week. I’ll be on next Thursday! Thanks!

  12. Mary Therese

Raymond said it would be next week πŸ™ I’ll need another reminder! πŸ˜‰

    • Jennifer Fulwiler

It got pushed to next week at the last minute. Sorry about that!
