A monthly roundup – May
ON THE CALENDAR
- Saturday, May 12 I’m excited to be speaking at a moms brunch at St. Thomas Aquinas parish in College Station, TX. For tickets or more information, call 979-693-6994.
- Friday, August 31 I’m honored to be giving a keynote presentation at the Catholic New Media Conference in Dallas, TX (along with my friends Elizabeth Scalia, Brandon Vogt, and a bunch of other great folks). Come join us!
GOOD STUFF TO CHECK OUT
- A family has been called to adopt a special little girl named Harper who has both HIV and Hepatitis C. Here’s an opportunity to help them raise the funds to make this happen, as well as having the chance to win great prizes. (You can see a picture of sweet Harper at the link as well.)
- Fr. Joseph Homick (whose blog is one of my favorites) has a special call to pray for people who have lost faith, specifically that they will come to know God in the last moments before their deaths. Check out this post for details, and to find out how to contact him to send him names of folks who need these kinds of prayers.
- The Benedictine Daughters of the Divine Will is a brand new order with a neat mission, which you can read about here. They need some funds to build a monastery. If you feel moved to help them with that, you can donate here.

Precious Harper. Love the name! I’m new to your blog, love it already!
Janelle
Have been strongly considering going to the Catholic New Media conference. Hoping it works out!
My husband Joel and I will be attending CNMC12. Maybe we’ll get to chat a bit longer than you and I did at Behold?! Looking forward to hearing you speak.
I enjoyed reading your latest post at NCRegister re: homeschooling. We are discerning; your thoughts are quite helpful.
Finally, I’ve been meaning to mention something per your appearance on LOTR. Were you aware that FOCUS now has a chapter at UT? My good friend Jimmy is leading the missionaries there. So when you talked about the good atheists on campus, I had a good chuckle — he sure is working hard to convert their hearts! 🙂
That’s so great that you’ll be at the CNMC, Lisa! Looking forward to chatting more there.
Just wanted to mention that, for the month of May, First Communion Stories is having its annual First Communion contest. From May 1 – May 21, you can submit your story about your First Communion. It can be short or long, funny or serious, just be sure to be truthful.

Jennifer- I commented on your blog September 4, 2008. I am not a usual commenter, but I just love your blog and wanted to in that case. I know this is a very strange request- but I just googled myself for the first time ever, and my comment on your blog was the first thing to come up. It makes me feel a little strange having that “out there” so publicly- hence my hesitation to comment:) I know that you’re very computer savvy; is there anything you can do to remove my comment? If not, it’s alright. Thanks!
